Friends of Macombs is a civic association composed of a group of concerned community residents of the “Valley” neighborhood of North Harlem.
The mission of the “Friends of Macombs” is to serve, promote and protect the community interests of the Valley neighborhood through volunteer efforts; to identify and evaluate needs, disseminate information, and take appropriate action to support other Valley organizations with the common goal of improving the quality of life.
Present Focus: Bringing a new "State of the Art" Macombs Bridge Branch Library & "State of the Art" Recreational/Multi-use Facility above West 152nd Street in the "Valley" neighborhood of North Harlem.

- B - (Rush Hour) & D - (non-Rush Hour) - 155th St Stop
- C - 155th St Stop on St Nicholas Ave, then go east (about 1 block) on 155th St. and either cross over Edgecombe Ave. and Harlem River Driveway on the North side of 155th St., and continue to walk about 20 steps on the North side of the Viaduct, look to the left and go down steps at 155th St., continue to Frederick Douglass Blvd, turn left and walk to 157th St Bus Stop, and turn left walking to the Center OR continue down the South side of the 155th St Viaduct, turn right at the bottom, turn right again at West 154th Street, walk down the street to Frederick Douglass Blvd, cross over to the west (downtown) side of the blvd. and turn right, continue across West 155th Street and walk toward the 157th St bust stop, then turn left and walk to the Center.
- 3 - After exiting the station, cross over to the west side (downtown) of Adam Clayton Powell Blvd and walk West through 149th Street to Frederick Douglass Blvd, turn right, continue across West 150th, 151st, 152nd, 153rd, 155th Streets, continue to walk to 157th St Bus Stop, and turn left walking to the Center.
- M10 - West 157th Street & Frederick Douglass Blvd (8th Ave) Stop (Last Stop), Walk west to the Center.
- M2 - West 154th Street & Adam Clayton Powell Jr. (7th Ave). Walk west through Colonel Charles Young Triangle Park to West 154th St (to the right side of the Colonial Post Office), walk down West 154th Street to Frederick Douglass Blvd, cross over to the west (downtown) side of the blvd. and turn right, continue across West 155th Street and walk toward the 157th St bust stop, then turn left and walk to the Center.

- Bx6 - 155th St Stop on Edgecombe Ave, cross over to north side of the 155th St Viaduct and walk down steps, continue to Frederick Douglass Blvd, turn left and walk to 157th St Bus Stop, and turn left walking to the Center OR continue down the 155th St Viaduct on the South side, turn right at the bottom, turn right again at West 154th Street, walk down the street to Frederick Douglass Blvd, cross over to the west (downtown) side of the blvd. and turn right, continue across West 155th Street and walk toward the 157th St bust stop, then turn left and walk to the Center.
