OWS Labor Outreach Committee - Weekly Meeting

Tuesday, March 5, 2013 - 6:30pm - 7:30pm
60 Wall St., NYC

Labor Outreach Committee

Who we are:

We are members of trade unions and labor groups who have come together in support of the goals of Occupy Wall Street. We believe progressive, militant unions are the key to our power and well-being. We work together to build the strength and unity of workers and unions, especially now when we all face severe attacks.

What we do:

• The Occupy Wall Street Labor Outreach Committee (LOC) has supported struggles by Teamsters at Sotheby’s, postal workers in the USPS, telecommunications workers at Verizon, transit workers in the subways and buses, teachers in New York City public schools and others.

• We have worked with unions to coordinate united actions in favor of the social and economic needs of the 99%.

• We have helped coordinate union support for OWS including resources and space, and an emergency mobilization which stopped Mayor Bloomberg’s attempt in October to evict OWS from Zuccotti Park.

Weekly Meetings: Tuesdays, 6:30pm, 60 Wall St.
