The National Week of Action Against failed Police and ICE partnerships

Where: 26 Federal Plaza (on Broadway between Worth and Duane Street)
Take the A, C, 1, 2, 3 train to Chambers / 4, 5, 6 to Brooklyn Bridge / R, W to City Hall

Why: Event is part of the national "Uncovering the Truth" Campaign, a week of actions that exposes the negative consequences of information sharing between local jails and federal immigration enforcement agencies.

President Obama approved the Secure Communities program so that by 2013 all jails will be participating in this program that will lead to more deportations per year than this country has ever seen and it will cost billions…
unless we do something!

Keep Families Together! Dignity not Detention!

Press conference will also be the launch for the lawsuit being filed by the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Immigration Justice Clinic, and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) to compel information about the secretive Secure Communities program
