Gasland Part II
Dir: Josh Fox | US | 2013 | 120 mins

GASLAND PART II shows how the stakes have been raised on all sides in one of the most important environmental issues facing our nation today. The film demonstrates that the gas industry’s portrayal of natural gas as a clean and safe alternative to oil is a myth and that fracked wells inevitably leak over time, contaminating water and air, hurting families, and endangering the earth’s climate with the potent greenhouse gas, methane. In addition the film looks at how the powerful oil and gas industries are in Josh Fox's words "contaminating our democracy".

Come enjoy the film and stick around for a discussion with local activists and residents of the West Village! It is a chance to learn more about Fracking in general and specifically how it effects us here in the greater NY City area.

Co-Sponsored with Occupy the Pipeline, a not-for-profit environmental working group devoted to stopping the Spectra Pipeline from running gas from New Jersey into the West Village under the Gansevoort Pier.
