David "Death Squad" Petraeus + Wall Street Moguls Holding Gala Tuesday, Sept. 17

Mayor Stop & Frisk, Union-Buster Bloomberg Invited Too

When: Tuesday, September 17, 5:30 p.m.
Where: Macaulay Honors College, 35 West. 67th St.
(between Central Park West and Columbus Ave.)

As indignation grows against CUNY's appointment of certified war criminal David "Death Squad" Petraeus, the former CIA chief and Iraq/Afghanistan war commander is now slated to be a keynote speaker at a gala "fundraiser" this Tuesday. Showing arrogant disdain for the students, faculty, workers, immigrant rights and labor activists who have protested Petraeus’ appointment, the CUNY administration and NYC elite apparently think the time has come to gorge on a banquet while rubbing elbows with this architect of war, torture centers and death squads.

The other keynote speaker is Fareed Zakaria, a foreign policy adviser to Obama who previously worked with Paul Wolfowitz to pave the way for war under Bush, demanding 400,000 troops for the invasion of Iraq. For his part, Petraeus is a key architect of the drive to war against Syria.

The most prominent invited guest for Tuesday's gala is multi-billionaire Mayor Michael Bloomberg, infamous for union-busting, school closings, teacher-bashing, refusing raises for city workers -- and for his racist promotion of the notorious NYPD Stop and Frisk program, as well as the eviction of Occupy Wall Street and a range of other police state measures.

This Tuesday, September 17, CUNY students, faculty and staff; city workers, teachers and other unionists; immigrant rights activists and opponents of racist repression and imperialist war should all come out together to protest the billionaire/war criminal gala.
