Planning Meeting for the MARCH 15 MARCH FOR $15 MINIMUM WAGE
Across the US people are organizing to raise the minimum wage to a livable wage of at least $15 an hour . We are fighting to be able to make enough to survive. The current average US wages are $12 per hour . In the US minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. 15 states have higher minimum wage laws. Several have over $9 . In New York state the law changed minimum to $8 per hour on January First. That is not enough, but tens of thousands of New Yorkers are illegally paid less than minimum.
Please come to the planning meeting to help prepare for the protest march to demand raising the minimum wage.
Demand that our elected officials enforce all labor civil rights laws. Contact Gov. Cuomo and elected city and state officials and demand a higher $15 minimum wage. Demand that New York City be allowed to set the city's minimum wage law. Life is more expensive in NYC than the rest of NY State. The city can raise an extra high sales tax law, parking tickets, and a city income tax law so we should be able to control the city minimum wage laws also. Contact your state senators and city council members. MARCH FOR AN INCREASE TO A $15 MINIMUM WAGE SAT MARCH 15 starting at Herald Square , near Macy's at 1 pm.
