OBAMACARE
WHAT IT IS AND WHAT WE NEED

Since the Obama Adminstration first announced plans for his health care initiative, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Right has been on the attack, opposed to anything that suggests the government can improve the lives of ordinary Americans struggling from crippling health care costs. But what has been lost in the right-wing hysteria is the fact that the ACA doesn’t go nearly far enough in curbing health care costs, nor does it provide universal coverage- an estimated 30 million people will remain uninsured under the ACA. Instead, it preserves the role of for-profit health insurance, a key cause of the problems with the US health care system. Come to a discussion of what the ACA is and what it will take to win universal health care as a human right.
