As the occupation of Palestine turns 67, Palestinians, activists, and citizens across the globe have been strategizing different methods of tackling the atrocities and occupation of Palestinians. The campaign that has been taking the world by storm with revelation after revelation to the international community of Israel's brutal occupation and apartheid system is known as the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement. BDS, called by and organized by Palestinians, seeks the liberation and human rights that Palestinians deserve and is now being called from everyone to the American Studies Association to Global Human Rights leaders as a method of pressuring Israel to stop it's illegal and brutal occupation of Palestine.

To speak on this panel discussing the next steps of removing the apartheid and settler colonial system set up by Israel and the current state of affairs within the BDS movement are:

Ali Abunimah: a world renowned Palestinian journalist and writer. He is co-founder and editor of the Electronic Intifada, has written hundreds of articles on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, including his first book ‘One Country: A Bold Proposal to End the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict’. His forthcoming book put out by Haymarket Books, ‘The Battle for Justice in Palestine” (http://www.haymarketbooks.org/pb/The-Battle-for-Justice-in-Palestine) which has been endorsed by the likes of Joseph Mossad, and in the case of Alice Walker as:

--- “In The Battle for Justice in Palestine it is the voice of Ali Abunimah, fierce, wise - a warrior for justice and peace - someone whose large heart, one senses, beyond his calm, is constantly on fire. A pragmatist but also a poet. This is the book to read to understand the present bizarre and ongoing complexity of the Palestine/Israel tragedy.”

Max Blumenthal: an award-winning journalist and bestselling author whose articles and video documentaries have appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Daily Beast, The Nation, The Guardian, The Independent Film Channel, The Huffington Post, Salon.com, Al Jazeera English and many other publications. His new book, Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel, is in stores now (http://www.powells.com/biblio/9781568586342). His 2009 book, Republican Gomorrah: Inside The Movement That Shattered The Party, is a New York Times and Los Angeles Times bestseller.

---"Blumenthal’s new book offers an unflinching look at the racist reality of Israel that America’s establishment media simply does not have the guts to confront."
Ali Abunimah, Electronic Intifada
---"[Blumenthal is] genuinely interested in the truth, and knows that the truth in politics often lurks in those dark caves of viciousness... [Goliath is] the kind of book that you just open to any chapter and quickly get a sense of both the particular and the whole. You'll find yourself instantly immersed in an engrossing family romance-one part tender, one part train-wreck-and wish you had the entire day to keep reading. Put it down, and pick it up the next day, and you'll have the exact same feeling."
