Global Capitalism: Monthly Economic Update
Rick Wolff

Co-sponsors: & The New School Design & Urban Ecologies Program

In addition to our usual short takes on major economic events of the past month, April's meeting will focus on these topics:
* Why the so-called “recovery” since 2010 has bypassed most Americans and served/saved chiefly corporations and the rich.
* Why there has not yet been a sustained social movement to protest and change the biased policies that produce so lopsided a “recovery”
* A criticism of “redistribution policies” (e.g., progressive taxes, food stamps and other subsidies to the poor, etc.) – but not the Tea Party kind.
