Women in Black: "Occupy Wall Street, not Palestine!"

Date:
Thursday, April 19, 2012 - 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Location:
Union Square, at 14th Street and Broadway

On April 19, the anniversary of the day in 1943 when Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto began their uprising against the Nazis, we stand with Palestinians resisting their oppression by Israel, backed by the United States. JOIN US!

Please join the Women in Black Union Square Vigil Thursday April 19 at 14th Street and Broadway 5:30-6:30, as we say "Occupy Wall Street, not Palestine!"

Now that part of the Occupy Wall Street movement is occupying Union Square Park, it was fun last week to cross the street and join them after the women in black vigil.

NOTE: Women in Black Union Square is a group of women (and some men) of diverse religious and national backgrounds. We stand at Union Square EVERY THURSDAY, with the following exceptions:

The following holidays: We do not hold the vigil when it falls on the first day of Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, the first night of Passover or major national holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's day.)
Severe weather, as follows: We will not hold the vigil in blizzard, thunderstorm, or Armagheddon. And if the weather permits, PLEASE JOIN US! We need you! Thanks.
