2012 Democratic Presidential Candidate Vermin Supreme Headlines Panel on Activism and Entertainment
followed by Screening of Satirical Comedy “Vodka Rocks!”

Satirical-activist Vermin Supreme will headline a discussion about “actitainment,” a political movement combining activism and entertainment which has gained momentum in the last ten years. Is actitainment an effective tool to bring about political change, or at least raise awareness of political issues?

The discussion will cover the tactics of AdBusters, The Yes Men, Reverend Billy, Jon Stewart, Vermin Supreme and others. Also on the panel will be film producer John Rubino (“Vodka Rocks!”), and film producer Keil Trosh (“Human Resources”). Questions for the panel can be uploaded to Twitter for consideration by the panel moderator prior to the Q&A (#actitainment, #vodka-rocks).

These events expand on the screening experience by developing an aspect of the film being presented. At this event, activism and entertainment is explored, including a screening of the 91-minute surrealist activist-entertainment movie “Vodka Rocks!,” (2011), a satirical critique of corporate branding and marketing.

Keil Trosh’s satirical film short “Human Resources” will also be screened preceding the panel discussion.

Complimentary vodka tastings provided by Henry Street Wines and Liquors.

A Twitter contest will be held with a prize awarded for the best Twitter entry.

This event is brought to us by Skuflix as part of their 2012 Expanded Screening Experience (ExScEx) events. Tickets are available online ( for $10, or at the door for $12 on April 24th.
