NUEVA YORK COMMEMORA LA RESISTENCIA DE HONDURAS,

Con la visita de Gerardo Torres,

El expondrá sobre la actual situación en el país.

Habrá comida típica hondureña y podrá llenar el formulario de la Constituyente con su cédula de identidad.

El 28 de Junio de 2010, se cumple el primer año del golpe de Estado militar en Honduras; el peor desastre político, económico y social en la historia de ese país. En la madrugada de ese fatídico día, más de 200 efectivos del ejército hondureño irrumpieron en la residencia del presidente Constitucional, Sr. José Manuel Zelaya Rosales, lo golpearon, lo amarraron y en piyamas lo metieron en un avión y lo abandonaron en el aeropuerto de Costa Rica. Hasta hoy, el Presidente y su familia se encuentran desterrados de Honduras pero con deseos de volver pronto.

El Frente Nacional de Resistencia Popular, nace como una respuesta al repudio que produjo en el pueblo, la ruptura del orden Constitucional y democrático; convirtiéndose así en el movimiento político más importante de la historia contemporánea de Honduras.

NEW YORK COMMEMORATES THE RESISTANCE OF HONDURAS

with the visit of Gerardo Torres,

He, will speak on the country’s current situation.

There will be typical Honduran food and you can fill out the “Constituyente” form with a Honduran ID.

June 28th, 2010, marks the first year of the Military Coup in Honduras; the worst political, social and economic disaster in Honduran history. In the morning of that fatal day, more than 200 military men irrupted in the residence of Constitutional President, José Manuel Zelaya Rosales, beat him, tied him down and in his pajamas, put him on a plane and dropped him in the Airport in Costa Rica.

Today, President Zelaya and his family are exiled and wish to soon go back to Honduras.

The National Resistance Popular Front was born as a reaction and condemnation to the rupture of the Constitutional and democratic order and has since, become the most important political movement in Honduras’ modern history.
