Military Families Speak Out is a national group of families related to soldiers who served since 9/11 who oppose the war in Afghanistan.

This is co-sponsored by Grandmothers Against the War and Code Pink NYC.
11 years of war in Afghanistan have resulted in over 2,000 US deaths, tens of thousands mutilated and wounded, countless Afghan civilian deaths. The Political aspect of setting up good relations has been left out and we are now in a terrible quagmire. 3,500 New York State troops from Fort Drum, New York are deploying this month. Protest this deployment of 6 battalions: the 14th Infantry regiment, the 1st Squad 89 Cavalry; the 4th Battalion 31st Infantry Regiment; the 2nd Brigade Combat Team; the 2nd Battalion 15 Field Artillery; the 210 Brigade Supply Battalion. These are our kids they are sending. To keep one soldier in the field one year is $1,000,000; this paid by our TAX DOLLARS, while 24 US kids die of poverty EACH DAY, and tens of thousands of homeless children are living in shelters and they cut teachers.
