Join Evolve For Animals for an evening of leafleting in the heart of Times Square, NYC. We will reach out to the public with our very own “New York City Vegan Restaurant Guides” that will introduce the passersby to the numerous dining establishments throughout the city that are 100% cruelty-free.

Sadly, veganism is construed by many as a life of deprivation when nothing could be further from the truth. As our pamphlets will illustrate (and explain), veganism is a lifestyle transcendent in abundance and innovation. While there are countless eateries throughout the city that offer a wide variety of vegan options on their menus, this guide serves to applaud and encourage the public to patronize some of those establishments that have taken the progressive step in offering the most healthful, sustainable, and compassionate cuisine.

German student Mascha Artz came to New York in 2009 to study the very diverse scenes of vegans. The result is “VEGAN NY,” a photo book and an interview book that give an in-depth view on fifty vegans living in the city. An ambitious attorney, a filmmaker involved in animal rights, artists, bicycle couriers, and freegans are just some of the characters Artz portrays. Join Artz for a presentation and celebration of the NY release.

Join Jasmin Singer and Mariann Sullivan (www.ourhenhouse.org) as they discuss the multitude of ways we can each change the world for animals through food activism. Whether it’s baking compassionate cupcakes for your office party, hosting a tofu-dog feed-in on the Fourth of July, or writing a letter to the editor regarding the blatant oversight of veganism in a “green foods” article, there is a way in for each of us when it comes to using food as a political statement and a tool for change.
