Michael Williams was convicted of second-degree assault for defending young Muslim women against a hate-filled bigot. He will be sentenced Friday, Aug. 10.

The prosecutor, who introduced blatantly anti-Muslim rhetoric into the trial, wants to send him to prison for 5 years.

Red Squad turns the lens on the notorious undercover police agency responsible for spying on political dissidents. The award-winning documentary was a student project of Suchler brothers under the guidance of Martin Scorcese. CBS is a counterpoint to the film Badge of the Assassin (1983) and features political prisoner rights activists Safiya Bukari and New York Three defendants Herman Bell, Albert Nuh Washington and Jalil Muntaqin.
