Dear All, (Información en español al final de este correo)
Secure Communities is a program which requires local law enforcement agencies to forward the fingerprints of every arrested person to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and then transfer those suspected of being deportable into the detention and deportation system.

On May 18, 2010 New York State signed an agreement with Department of Homeland Security to participate in the Secure Communities program - without public input.
