Looking at the Occupy movement that captured the collective imagination in late 2011, and some of the burgeoning newer movements that have since coalesced, this one-day workshop will examine some of the ways Forum Theater can be used in our political and organizing work to help build a lasting social movement and create open, inclusive, democratic and egalitarian communities.

Changing Races - An Applied Theatre Workshop

Changing Races is a workshop that examines the evolution of racial labels for peoples of African descent in America, from "Colored" to "Negro" to "Black" to "African American." Workshop participants explore social issues concerning racial identity through theatre and drama techniques in an ensemble-based environment. No theatre or drama experience is necessary. Space is limited; priority will be given to early registrants.
