Join us as we begin at the symbol to our nation's history of welcoming immigrants, Ellis Island and visit the institutions that represent the current reality for immigrants in NJ today, including the county jails, the immigration court and the Elizabeth Detention Center. This year we will be focusing on the 131 deaths in detention along with the economic and social conditions that contribute to the dehumanization and the suffering of immigrants in detention that leads society to not mourn these deaths.

Buses leaving from Elizabeth Detention Center at 10:00 am to tour and vigil at NJ facilities incarcerating immigrants for ICE, returning for the annual vigil at 4:00 PM. Early morning vigils at Monmouth County Jail & Sussex County Jail / Buses will stop at: Bergen County Jail (11:00 am); Hudson County Correctional Facility (12:30 pm); Essex County Jail & Delaney Hall (3:00 pm); Elizabeth Detention Center (4:00 pm) / Vans and carpools leaving from Freehold, Morristown, Newark and New Brunswick
