Ride your bike out to Fort Tilden to volunteer to clean up the beaches in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

We will ride our bicycles out to Fort Tilden, to volunteer to clean up the beaches when we arrive from 11AM to 3PM.

Tasks include removing debris and moving sand.

It is recommended to bring boots, and work gloves (though gloves may be provided).

Pax Christi Metro New York is proud to be honoring this year's Peacemakers: Sr. Janet Kinney, CSJ, the Executive Director of Providence House, which helps women on parole from prison get back on their feet; David Maloof, a graduating senior from Fairfield Preparatory High School, who organized a program of support for young Palestinian refugees in Lebanon; and Judy Lewis, a Development Committee and PCMNY Board member, for her energetic and inspiring service to PCMNY in and out of the office. Overhauling and rebuilding cup and cone bottom brackets, hubs, and headsets. Identifying when problems are present and whether they need a simple adjustment or a more involved overhaul.
The third Monday of every month focuses on cups, cones, and bearings. Classes are free and open to all levels of experience and expertise. There's no need to do the classes in order, or go to the beginner's class before any others. As always, people can use the tools to repair their own bikes, though they cannot expect guidance for the mechanics.
